A Journey Through
Gilgal → Jericho → The Promised Land
A Journey Through Gilgal → Jericho → The Promised Land
As a church family, we are stepping into 21 days of focused prayer and fasting. We do this not out of obligation but out of desire—to draw near to God, to hear His voice, and to align our hearts with His purposes.
Throughout Scripture, God forms His people through rhythms of worship, fasting, prayer, and obedience. One of the clearest pictures of this journey is found in the book of Joshua:
Gilgal — a place of remembering, renewing, and preparing
Jericho — a place of unity, obedience, and breakthrough
The Promised Land — a place of mission, purpose, and fruitfulness
This same movement guides our 21 days.

Remember | Renew | Prepare
God begins His work in each of us personally and in the families to which we belong.
Gilgal was the place where God healed, restored, consecrated, and readied His people.
This week helps us do the same.
We ask: “Lord, prepare my household for Your vision.”
January 18-24, 2026
Obey | Unite | Align
New Covenant is a household of households—a family of familes.
Just as Israel marched, family by family, in unity around Jericho, we seek God’s direction to walk in obedience together.
This week focuses on unity, church family, and the vision God has given us for 2026—including the sending of the Williams Family (Scotty, Taylor, Jayden, and Judah) to Adel to plant a new church.
We ask: "Lord, unite our New Covenant church family—many households woven into one heart, one voice, and one people following You in unity."

Pray | Strengthen | Send
We are part of something bigger than ourselves and our church.
God is at work in our city, nation, and world—inviting us to partner in His work of restoration.
This week expands our prayers outward to the entire Body of Christ.
We ask: "Lord, move through Your global family—bringing unity, awakening, mission, and the good works You prepared beforehand for the Church around the world."
Use it with your household—whether that’s just you or a home full of people.
Each day includes Scripture, a simple devotional, a guided practice, and prayers you can add to your own.
Choose a time each day—morning, evening, or whenever fits your household’s rhythm.
Keep a small notebook nearby to write down things God highlights.
Expect God to speak, lead, and renew.
As you prepare your heart for the upcoming 21 days, watch this short BibleProject video on Joshua. It frames the story behind our three-week theme.

The prayer models listed below are provided as additional tools to deepen your personal and family prayer times. They offer biblical patterns and practical frameworks for connecting with the Lord, helping you learn to pray with confidence, focus, and faith. Use them throughout the 21 days whenever you want additional guidance, structure, or inspiration in your conversations with God.
The Lord’s Prayer is often recited in churches or at religious events, but there’s so much more to this prayer. Jesus provided this model as an outline to teach us how to pray in a way that connects us to God, aligns our priorities with His, and helps us live dependently on Him. This model takes us through each part of The Lord’s Prayer, showing us how to pray the way Jesus instructed.
In the Old Testament, the Tabernacle was the dwelling place of God, built to His specifications, where He would meet with His people, the Israelites. As they entered the Tabernacle, they passed through seven stations, following God’s instructions, to experience His presence. Today, even though we no longer need the physical Tabernacle to meet with God, these same steps can help us connect with Him. This prayer model will take us through each station of the Tabernacle and use the purpose of each station to guide our prayers.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted His request. (1 Chronicles 4:10)
Prayer is not only communion with God; it is also confrontation with the enemy. When Jesus was on the earth, He came face-to-face with the devil when He was tempted in the wilderness (see Matthew 4 and Luke 4), and every time the enemy tried to tempt Him, Jesus responded with Scripture. He confronted the devil with the Word of God, using the Sword of the Spirit to defend Himself. These spiritual warfare prayers and verses are examples we can use and adapt to our specific situations when we or someone we know is under attack.
When we pray the promises of God, we’re focusing on God’s power and limitless resources rather than the problem or our own limited ability to solve it. Our Heavenly Father is bigger than any situation we’ll encounter, no matter how painful or scary or uncertain it may seem in the moment. Whatever we’re going through, find a verse for the situation and trust God for the result. Pray His promises and trust in His power to be revealed. The Word of God is one of the most valuable tools we have to build a dynamic prayer life.
God desires for everyone to know Him. As followers of Christ, we are called to partner with Him in praying for those who don’t know Him to come to know Him and accept the free gift of salvation.
Fasting is a biblical discipline that deepens our dependence on God and sharpens our spiritual focus as we seek His presence, direction, and breakthrough. These guides offer practical insight into why Christians fast, how to fast safely, and fasting practices you can prayerfully consider during these 21 days. Whether you’re trying fasting for the first time or seeking renewed clarity and spiritual strength, these resources will help you understand the heart and purpose behind this ancient practice as you draw near to God.
